Sunday one-pan chicken roast


1 Kg chicken pieces (skinned).

3 Tbsp Saville South African Braai (BBQ) Spice

1 tsp Saville Red Chilli Paste.

4 Tbsp plain yogurt.

1 tsp salt.

Fresh Rosemary.

Chucky roasting vegetables.

1 red onion (thickly sliced)

60g garlic butter

1 Tbsp lemon juice


  1. Wash chicken and marinade with South African braai spice, red chilli paste, salt, and fresh Rosemary (1 or 2 twigs).

  2. Using an oven roasting pan lined with foil, add your marinated chicken. Scatter your vegetables and red onion in between the chicken pieces.

  3. Dollop the garlic butter over the chicken and vegetables.

  4. Cover with foil.

  5. Bake at 180° for 20 minutes and then 200° for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven when chicken has cooked through.

Serve with green salad and garlic bread.
